My first trip out of the country was to South Korea. Mexico or Canada might have been easier. Didn't hold the same allure, though. There's something about 14 hours on a plane to parts unknown that shakes loose who you are as a person. And that independence is freeing. Plus, the food. Oh my god, all the food.

I've now seen several sites across the world and it is one of my favorite things. To me, travel reinforces my faith in humanity, because everywhere I go, people are mostly kind, sharing, and welcoming.
